Soul Food is a term used for an ethnic cuisine, food traditionally prepared and eaten by African Americans of the Southern United States. Many of the various dishes and ingredients included in "soul food" are also regional meals and comprise a part of Southern US cooking, as well. What is the meaning of food for soul? Food has a profound capacity for meaning and fostering community. The food grown, prepared and consumed is full of fantasy, teeming with imagination and meaning. Our imagination of food is inseparable from the food itself. At the personal level, food is closely connected to that central power of the human soul, memory. Enjoy delectable comfort cuisine and cheerful conversation. Location: Masonic Hall / Porter Square / 1950 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA 02140
“When my grandfather would come in from the fields; after a long day of laboriously planting and harvesting crops on our family farm in Virginia from dawn to dusk, one thing he could always count on was a warm loving greeting from my grandmother and a delicious hot meal on the table.” Cheryl Worrell Brown, Founder/CEO - Executive Producer / O2EX Boston Fashion Week / Thank you for your support!
