Sunday, October 7 @ 10 AM – 1 PM

Boston Metropolitan (Cambridge): Soul Food Brunch & Sophisticated Street Style Fashions

It’s your turn to strut you stuff! Wear your favorite outfit that expresses your style whether it be structured staples or eclectic combinations, this is your chance to wear that outfit. Channel your inner Megan Markle “royal” attire with matching hat. Or “wow” us in your “Whoopee Goldberg” comfy chic. Soothe your soul with fashion and friends.

Soul Food is a term used for an ethnic cuisine, food traditionally prepared and eaten by African Americans of the Southern United States. Many of the various dishes and ingredients included in "soul food" are also regional meals and comprise a part of Southern US cooking, as well. What is the meaning of food for soul? Food has a profound capacity for meaning and fostering community. The food grown, prepared and consumed is full of fantasy, teeming with imagination and meaning. Our imagination of food is inseparable from the food itself. At the personal level, food is closely connected to that central power of the human soul, memory. Enjoy delectable comfort cuisine and cheerful conversation. Location: Masonic Hall / Porter Square / 1950 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA 02140

“When my grandfather would come in from the fields; after a long day of laboriously planting and harvesting crops on our family farm in Virginia from dawn to dusk, one thing he could always count on was a warm loving greeting from my grandmother and a delicious hot meal on the table.” Cheryl Worrell Brown, Founder/CEO - Executive Producer / O2EX Boston Fashion Week / Thank you for your support!

Modesty Apparel Fashion Show - o2ex Boston Fashion Week

Sunday, October 7 @ 1 PM - 2 PM

Boston Metropolitan (Cambridge) Modesty Apparel Fashion Show

What does modest fashion mean? The term modest fashion refers to a fashion trend of wearing less skin-revealing clothes. Beyond the various interpretations, all agree on the idea that modest fashion means loose clothing, comfortable dressing and covering of the body according to person's own comfort. Chic derives from the French word 'chique' which means skills and elegance - and over the past few decades it has been used to refer to a woman as smart and stylish. "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous." A lady displays self-respect, class, appreciation, and etiquette. Being a classy lady doesn't mean that you should be snobby or stuck up, but that you should have dignity, consideration, and moderation in your daily actions. It is an elegant style that can be worn to work, Sunday brunch, a city shopping trip, or traveling the world. You can even go sailing while rocking a classic look! Sophisticated dressing is all about key elements and combining them properly. You don't have to completely give up your own style to be classy and chic, but it will require some effort and modifications. Are you ready to make the classy transition? Remember classy doesn't mean boring or without personality. Dressing classy means dressing stylishly and sophisticated. Refreshments Location: Masonic Hall, Porter Square, 1950 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge MA 02140

*October 7, 2018 events are at the same location and is considered one event, one cost.
